Dolce & Gabbana AW13

The Dolce & Gabbana designers paid respects to their Sicilian heritage with a religious themed show entitled "Devotion". Models of all ages were street-casted for an authentic follow up of their SS13 show, guiding the audience through an array of characters found typical in a traditional Sicilian Catholic church all in their "Sunday's best".

The duo adorned their collection with rich fabrics and textures; velvet, corduroy, tapestry, silk, wool and lace on traditional black suit tailoring and shoes. In contrast to the traditional were whimsical imagery of choir boys and shrines to Virgin Mary printed onto oversized tees and sweatshirts. Dolman sleeves remained traditional yet tied in with the american sportswear trend, while high buttoned necklines in sharp angelic white depicted priests and altar boys all worn with pleated and high-waisted trousers. Long, double-breasted coats with fur and cropped jackets also featured, reflecting on trends seen at LCM.

(With such a beautiful and vast collection, I struggled to pick less than 28 out of 88+ looks. Sorry!)
